Let’s delve into what the VP is saying. First he used the words “Going to act”. He did not say is thinking about acting, may act, or looking into. VP Biden says “GOING TO ACT”; this leaves no doubt that President Obama is going to issue an executive order banning some guns or all guns.
Mr. VP neither you nor the President do not have that authority; This power does not fall onto you. It is not within the President’s powers to make laws. You cannot legislate by Executive Order. The power to create law resides solely with Congress. You are an Administrator not a Ruler. Contrary to the Lefts believe you are not a King; Mr. President you are not an Emperor, you are not a Messiah. These powers belong to the people who do not fear you; the opposite is true. The Constitution promises that the Government will fear the people. This is our power, this is our right, this is our DUTY.
The Founding fathers in their wisdom set up a system of checks and balances so that this very thing could not happen. Many people believe that the American Revolution was fought over taxation; mainly because our leftist schools do not teach truth. The truth is that the American Revolution was fought because of a long train of abuse by a tyrannical Government; with last straw being gun confiscation. Here we are over 200 years later with the same thing. A tyrannical Government that has for years infringed on American liberty. Are we hanging from that branch by a fingernail?
In the past 12 years we have lost many liberties. The Patriot Act stripped the US Citizens of many rights. Warrantless wiretaps have taken the 4th Amendment to new lows. Drones spying on the American people, NDAA allowing for American Citizens to be held indefinitely without any possibility of trial. Now they are proposing taking away our only means of protection from them. In my lifetime I have seen Castro disarm the people, Qaddafi disarm the people, Idi Amin disarm the people, Mao Tse-Tung disarm the people, Pol Pot disarm the people, Kim Jong-il disarm the people. What do all of these people have in common? Once the people were disarmed they were systematically murdered. This all happened in my lifetime and I’m not that old; so do not tell me it cannot happen in the US. Anyone can desire power and go over the edge.
The second any type of mass registration or ban takes effect I will be calling my local police department and making a stolen weapons complaint, because somehow all of my weapons were instantly stolen. I no longer own them. If I do not own a firearm I cannot register a firearm. I will then purchase protection from the drug dealer in the inner city.
I will not tell anyone how to live their lives; that decision is their Constitutional right, but I will stand up and fight. I will not go easy into the night. Molon Labe

IF they had enforced the immigration laws they would not have felt the inherent need to be spying on the people of this country. So many of the people that have been allowed into this country NEED to be spied on, but they are not the CITIZENS of this country.
Brenda, I do not disagree with you, but I would add that it was a calculated plan. the Government does not trample Constitutional rights without thinking hard on how to do so and get away with it.

I won’t parse words. Any legislation or executive order that fails to abide by the spirit and letter of the 2nd Amendment is null and void. All citizens thus have a citizen to not only disregard the law or executive order in question, but also to bring the issuing office or body to justice by impeachment and removal from office.

This article is instructive as to the limitations of Obama’s power; that doesn’t mean he won’t try to expand it. It just states the options Obama may try to avail himself of under the law. And, clearly, Obama cannot legally make law, even with executive orders. The Congress under the Constitution has the power to make laws; the executive has the power to uphold and enforce them. Now, I wouldn’t put it past Obama to attempt to “make law” in any way possible; and there are some ways he and the Atty Gen. [who should be arrested and tried in a criminal court] can try to implement some gun laws. The best course is to read, read, read; know the laws, and know your rights under the laws. Be prepared to fight for your rights under those laws. And, as DCClothesline is doing so well, SPEAK OUT. Rally others to the fight for your Constitutional rights. I do believe we’re at a crossroads in this country; we’re at a danger point now. The Supreme Court appointments this president may well get, will tilt this court for a generation. That’s when you’ll see the fundamental landscape change. I am amazed at the outpouring from US citizens to the possibility of violations of the 2nd Amendment Constitutional rights of Americans. They aren’t standing still for it; there is an order backlog of AR-15s of more than one million, as reported by gun sellers. Literally millions of Americans are voting with their wallets and buying guns. The NRA has gotten 100,000 new members in the past week. They are hoping to make 5 million soon; they need you if they need to fund a legislative or court battle. These things always take money. There is a “war” coming for the Constitution; I hope Americans are ready, because the current regime is a danger to this nation–and yes, I’m talking treason. This president has put this nation in danger by transferring weapons to Mexican Drug Cartels–who are currently operating in more than 1100 US cities and towns, according to CNN. He’s putting this nation in danger via his policies in the Middle East, befriending the Muslim Brotherhood and allowing them to use that relationship to gain a foothold in this country. He’s putting this nation in danger via his immigration policies, which are a violation of the law, and which encourage porous borders, through which terrorists can easily pass. If Americans are unable to defend themselves during a war on our own soil, then of course, we’re at a decided disadvantage, right? So, we need to fight back; we need to organize; we need to plan and prepare to make our voices heard on the streets of Washington DC. I think we need to show up, march by the millions–a 50-million-man-march!– and demand this government follow the Constitution. But, if not that, then we need to let our elected representatives know our thoughts on what is happening, so write and call them regularly. Tell them NO to further violations of the Constitution’s 2nd Amendment.

It’s my guess they will use “soft tyranny” to enforce the coming outrage. They will force compliance by using the IRS, home liens, bank account freezes, drivers license denials & other such methods.Just enough force to keep below a threshold that would start an armed revolution.
Remove “do not” from the first sentence of the third paragraph – I think it says the opposite of what you meant. 🙂

As a woman, domestic violence survivor, and crime victims advocate I am very upset by this gross misuse of presidential power (as you can tell by my post…). Like you said, the president isn’t supposed to have this function. Congress makes laws, the Supreme Court interprets laws, and the President enforces laws. He’s making policy by bypassing the other two and we the people.
