This Is Not the America I Signed Up For by Dean Garrison

Lady LibertyBack in 1987 my High School graduating class voted me “Most Likely to Enter Politics.” That never materialized and probably never will. I am honestly at a turning point in my life and among other things I have decided to ask for the help of a few good friends and write a blog, exposing the political corruption in this country for what it is. In later posts I will expose you to some of the personal hell I have been through and I bet that you will be able to relate and maybe share some of your own experience.

For now, we are busy getting our team together so I don’t want to make this a long “welcome” post. I just want to let you know that we are here and we mean business. This blog is not about being democrat or republican, it’s about being a concerned American who sees things for what they really are, and not the picture our government paints for the apathetic.

We need to look no farther back than the year 2000 for a horrifying example of our servant leaders treating us as slavesHow is it that Al Gore receives roughly 500,000 more popular votes than Bush and still loses the election? If you want to dig deeper into that very election… What happened in Florida?

And you could go even deeper… How in the hell does Dick Cheney change his residence from Texas to Wyoming just to skirt around the 12th amendment? For those of you who don’t know, the 12th Amendment prohibits electorates from casting a vote for more than one candidate from their home state. In other words, Texas electoral college members can not vote for a president and vice president who both reside in Texas. I am starting to sound like a Democrat, which I am not. The corruption exists on both sides in my opinion.

How does Barrack Obama, or any candidate, win 100% of the vote from over 60 precincts in Ohio and Pennsylvania? 11,500 votes and not one single person voted for Romney in those precincts? The same thing happened with McCain four years earlier. So am I to believe that 11,500 people are so “pro-left” that not even an asshole who wants to piss off his wife will cast the odd vote for a republican? There is cause for concern in America.

Have you seen the comparisons between Romney and Obama? Do you wonder why “Obamacare” was never really an issue in 2012? It’s because Romney could actually take credit for creating “Obamacare.” Romney started talking about socialized healthcare before Obama ever did. His team actually met with the Obama administration on several occasions to consult on the development of the plan.

For Romney to bring this to light as an issue would have made him a hypocrite. Who cares that this was a major issue with the American people? Many of us felt misled by the promises of four years earlier and we wanted answers. That’s not what our political system is all about. It’s about backroom deals and corruption.

Romney and Obama combined to raise 1.8 billion dollars for the 2012 election, and there are people starving and out of work all over the world. Do they care? Campaign reform has to happen soon. What if that 1.8 billion was earmarked for cancer research or… How many jobs could it actually provide to people who are out of work?

Speaking of unemployment… Are you aware that the government doesn’t really know the real unemployment rate? All of those numbers are estimates first of all., based on a cross-section of our workforce. Secondly it only counts people who are seeking employment, so… If someone gives up and stops searching they no longer count in the totals. Add 3-5% to the current unemployment figure and you will likely have the real number. So if they say it’s 10%, it’s probably more like 13-15%. Don’t believe me? Do a little research. Type in a google search and you will be shocked what you find. Major news outlets concur on this as fact. The numbers are lies and can be manipulated.

What a great job they have done “creating jobs!” Are you aware that roughly 180,000 new people enter the workforce each month? So if they created 100,000 new jobs last month…we lost ground. America is hurting. It’s no secret.

There are a million topics that I would like to talk about, and I am busy finding others to help me. We won’t all be like-minded. I won’t allow that. I want you to see an honest and passionate view of what it looks like from our point of view. We aren’t Rhodes Scholars or Nobel Prize Winners. We won’t be professional writers or political analysts. Unfortunately we don’t have inside knowledge from D.C. but we don’t need it because the corruption is obvious and blatant.

We are just average Americans with a single voice and a single vote which doesn’t matter nearly as much as it should. Welcome to D.C. Clothesline…where we seek to expose the policies of this country for what they are. We will attempt to “Air Out” a lot of this dirty laundry that is pervasive in our government and hopefully find solutions…together. “Together” is what democracy is all about, but too many of our leaders have forgotten that.

Blessings to You and Yours My New Friend,

Dean Garrison
