Why you would never vote for me

Couldn’t have guessed that I would love to be POTUS right?

You would not vote me in because I am very rough and abrasive. I suppose I “John Wayne” everything.

Foreign policy would be love my allies, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I would remove and forbid all Americans from the middle east. I would remove and forbid all middle eastern nations from our nation. I would offer an olive branch of peace to our enemies and explain “Take the branch and be gone, or WE GOT THE BOMBS” America, as of 1998 (last leaked count) you have more than 10,000 Nuclear bombs, most of which are strapped to ICBMs paid for and ready to roll.

My domestic policy would be to imprison or remove from office anyone that stops the dismantling of HLS, Patriot, NDA, and HCA. They over step the bounds of the government under the Constitution. Which is supposed to protect you the people.

My domestic policy would be to force individual responsibility. Welfare Success is measured by those who get off it (like myself), not how much money we spend on it. Drugs like marijuana use would be left to the states to vote on. It seems to be a popular choice these days. So why not reserve that back under the 10th. I would also speak to the State Governors and listen to the people to see how they feel about doing the same for Abortion and many many many other topics.

Illegal Immigration and its enforcement would fall to the military. After all, isn’t it their sworn duty? Several years ago I remember video of Mexican Army “accidentally” crossing into the US. I didn’t take to kindly to that. My illegal immigration focus would be realistic and start with Canada. (Go look at the numbers, more illegals enter through Canada than Mexico). I would allow the states to also participate in the enforcement of their own borders. Its their state isn’t it? They have more responsibility and more at stake in protecting it, than someone who doesn’t live in their state.

My Florida Governor is responsible to me isn’t he? So why is so much left to Washington?

Education Reform would have the next top billing. Strip Federal power and Federal involvement. Force the States to take responsibility and encourage knowledge, not test scores.

My biggest accomplishment is I would want to strip back the power of the Federal Government to no more than it was intended to be. In doing so reducing its size. In doing so putting thousands of Federal employees out of work. I would sell the IRS to a private company. I would sell TSA to a private company, I would sell off as much as possible and out source it to private industry and prevent the use of foreign workers. American taxes, American employees. Etc etc etc. Using all the proceeds toward our debts.

I WOULD RAISE TAXES ON THE UPPER 10% and seek donations. ONLY UNTIL THE BUDGET CAN BE BALANCED IN THE BLACK. I would hurt the economy on purpose to make it better by flooding the market with cheap oil. Making the government break even on oil reserve costs. I would donate my pay checks back and deny myself any and all “perks” wherever possible. I would sell Camp David. I would liquidate. Fire sale!

Want to get things under control? Live within your means. I have to do it. I have been out of work for two months and today am counting change for gas before I go on my second day of work. I am smoking 305′s instead of Camel Wides. Im drinking RC Cola instead of Pepsi. I am using open wifi instead of my own internet access. I live within my means. I am an American Citizen and am struggling. NOT Because of someone else. But because life happens like that. I am responsible for me, no one else. Thank you for the food these past two months America. I made $115.00 last me and my fiance a month for two months in a row.

I know what it is like to struggle and fight for better. So that is why I think I would make a good POTUS for you. Because I can live within my means and do not take shit from anyone.

Like You Bret I have been there and done that when it comes to making ends meet, I know how to budget and know the things that are not “needed”. Personal responsibility and the knowledge of and definition of the words “want” and “need” would make me a good member of congress, or political appointee :-) dont want to be VP dont want to be associated with the lackey’s that have had that job :-)

If I was in Office, I would want to pick no nonsense, people, I would do so by tricking them into believing they are making an actual decision that costs lives.

I would check their nerves and resolve. Those that can choose killing 2.5 Million people to protect 1 American are worth it to me.

      • I am honest sorry I would probably fail your test.

      • Carl Smith says:

Sign Me Up, I can’t supply all my own ammo but the keys to turn the middle east into a giant glass skating rink would be a good start. I have worked over there and if God ever intended to give the world an enema this is the spot.

        • Bret says:

The idea is to NOT turn the middle east into glass. Its to deter any further action from them.

I dont give a rats ass if Iran or North Korea have Nuclear Weapons. They like us dont want to have to use them. But they like us have a healthy respect for their power.

Islam is not an evil religion. They are truly a peaceful people. Their radicals are like Westborough Baptist with AK-47s and the will to use them. So we lot them together, just as they lot us together. We go our seperate ways with a respectable understanding. Stay off my ball court, I will stay out of your sand box.

The idea is to show resolve. To show where we stand in a finality. That the shooting and violence must end. That we all need to give peace a real chance. To do that requires a mutal understanding that we have the same values fundamentally, however we disagree on which son went up a mountain.

  2. Bret,
I love your ideas! I would vote for you!

“So why is so much left to Washington?” Didn’t you answer that question in this article ‘The New Deal?

The Necessary and Proper Clause – Article One of the United States Constitution, section 8, clause 18: ‘The Congress shall have Power – To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any or Officer thereof.’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necessary_and_Proper_Clause

“The Necessary and Proper Clause of the Constitution allowed the Federal government to pass laws not expressly provided for in the Constitution’s list of express powers, provided those laws are in useful furtherance of the express powers of Congress under the Constitution. This case established two important principles in constitutional law. First, the Constitution grants to Congress implied powers for implementing the Constitution’s express powers, in order to create a functional national government. Second, state action may not impede valid constitutional exercises of power by the Federal government.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCulloch_v._Maryland

“In the case of the United States government, implied powers are the powers exercised by Congress which are not explicitly given by the constitution itself but necessary and proper to execute the powers which are.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implied_powers

Another reason is the 17th Amendment. Instead of U.S. Senators being elected by their respective state legislatures, the amendment established direct election by popular vote. The amendment also changed the way Senate vacancies were filled. Governors were now permitted to temporarily fill empty Senate seats until a special election could be held. States lost their voice in Congress, they had no representation. There was no way to ‘check’ the federal government’s expansion of power. Power is supposed to be shared between federal and state government. Without the Senate speaking for the states, making sure the federal government stuck to its enumerated powers, states have been stripped of many of their powers.

“Article VI, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, known as the Supremacy Clause, establishes the U.S. Constitution, federal statutes, and U.S. Treaties as “the supreme law of the land.” The text provides that these are the highest form of law in the U.S. legal system, and mandates that all state judges must follow federal law when a conflict arises between federal law and either the state constitution or state law of any state.

The “supremacy clause” is the most important guarantor of national union. It assures that the Constitution and federal laws and treaties take precedence over state law and binds all judges to adhere to that principle in their courts. – United States Senate[1]

The Supremacy Clause only applies if Congress is acting in pursuit of its constitutionally authorized powers. Federal laws are valid and are supreme, so long as those laws were adopted in pursuance of—that is, consistent with—the Constitution. Nullification, is the legal theory that states have the right to nullify, or invalidate, federal laws which they view as being unconstitutional; or federal laws that they view as having exceeded Congresses’ constitutionally authorized powers. The Supreme Court has rejected nullification, finding that under Article III of the Constitution, the power to declare federal laws unconstitutional has been delegated to the federal courts and that states do not have the power to nullify federal law.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supremacy_Clause

Since states lost their voice in Congress, many laws have been passed that have expanded Congress’ constitutionally authorized powers. I wrote an ‘argument’ paper for one of my classes on why the 17th Amendment should be repealed. When my class did peer review for that assignment, no one in my class even knew what the 17th did or that Senators hadn’t always been directly elected by popular vote. So many citizens believe the federal government is all powerful, they have no idea how our system of government is supposed to work. Or, why, the way the federal government works now, is so terrible.

    Bret Copley for President!! :)

  3. Bret says:

The States must go back to being responsible for themselves. The Federal Government has the fundamental value of being a consensus of the ideals of each state. Where decisions are not so much made, as a convention to share ideas. Those representatives, then can take back the new information to their states and choose to do or not do.

Congressional Power from The Articles of Confederation to The Constitution did not change, only the method of the application of that power. It became majority vote, rather than a 100% Yea or Nay. During the Confederation, everyone was on board or it didn’t happen. Since before the Civil War, The Federal Government has been increasing its power and its foot hold as the center of control. Shifting power from Governors to Representatives.

  4. Wayne Oyster says:

The only thing that I don’t agree with is that I would not leave it up to the states as whether or not to allow abortion. i think it is murder to kill an innocent baby in it’s mothers womb so therefore I would seek to have it banned altogether. One other point is that I would not approve gay marriage in any form and I would not allow gay people to adopt children. I would also get rid of about 99% of the executive orders. If people want welfare then let them work for it. I also want a balanced budget amendment. I would also seek that every congressmen have to live by the same laws that they pass and not be able to exempt themselves from it. I would seek term limits of no longer than 6 years. No judge would ever have a lifetime appointment. No more Tzars appointments by the President. Every Congressmen would have to take at least a 50% pay cut and cut all expense accounts in half. No more lobbying Congressmen by special interests. Bring back our jobs and cancel NAFTA and GATT treaties. Get rid of Federal Reserve and back our money with gold and silver. No more than 1 vacation per year will be allowed by any President and Congressmen. Every bill that is passed by the Congress must not include any pork spending projects. If it is not relevant to the bill then it can’t be included in the bill and it must be Constitutional otherwise it can’t be passed or signed into law. if you would do most of what you said and what I have suggested I would vote for you.and so would about 75% of the country.

    • Bret says:

This is why I wouldn’t want your vote. Id ask you not to vote for me. Sorry, I would never cherry pick or take a Chinese Buffet approach to the Constitution. I personally am against Abortion. But SCOTUS has said it is legal.

Also… So gays shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy the same rights you have? Your about as American as a wet foot Cuban. When you show me where the Constitution says all men except those who enjoy a dick in their ass are created equal. I will believe gays shouldn’t marry. Fucking Republicans and Democrats and your Bullshit twisted, sick, sense of America. Your religion has zero place in law. The principles OF YOUR RELIGION are THE SAME basic principles of all major religions including the pagans.

Those principles in which you ass hats cling to as *American* and Christian in nature have existed since before the fucking Roman Empire. E.G. Before Jesus Christ. Back when our Ancestors were still under Anarchy rule. So take your bible and your religion and take that shit to church. Go sell stupid else where. I am not buying.

      • Wayne Oyster says:

You have your opinion and I have mine. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me with all my points but I will stand by my opinions whether people like it or not. But I do think that most of us agree that our system of government is broken and it needs to be fixed and until we stick together on most issues concerning our Constitution then we will surely lose our freedoms. My religion is important to me even if you don’t want anything to do with it. That is up to you and I’m not going to force it down your throat or anyone else. So have a good day.

        • Bret says:

We as an American people must accept that we are a diverse people of diverse beliefs, ideals, needs, wants, desires and even life styles.

The Constitution guarentees those rights to every American without exception. Be it the right to bare arms or rhe right for ass hat liberals to use abortion to the degree of it literally being birth control.

The Federal Government SHOULD GUARENTEE ALL AMERICANS THE SAME RIGHTS. BUT NEVER FORCE ANY AMERICAN TO SUPPORT ANYTHING AGAINST THEIR BELIEFS. While we both won’t be visiting an abortion clinic any time soon. The only person paying for it shoukd be the people doing it. Because The Fed and even the states should not do that to their people.

What we each do in our own home is our business. We are guarenteed a right to privacy under the 14th Amendment.

That does not give us the right to deny any American a single right because we believe differently. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I refuse to disobey the laws of the land and choose to stand with Liberty and Equality. Rather than Gods word.
